Following the competition, NUSPS held an exhibition of the winning entries at the NUS central forum, which draw a huge crowd.
A mini prize presentation was also held at the central forum with our proud winners.
NUSPS “Strange World” Photographic Competition has finally come to a close. The organising committee would like to thank each and every one who have participated or help out in the Competition and our sponsors Canon and Cathay Photo for their support and sponsorships.

Canon Photomarathon 23/10/2010

NUSPS Photo of the Month
The Photographic Society of NUS (NUSPS) will be starting our Photo of the Month for this school year!
Starting October 2010, we will be collecting photos from members through our flickr pool. The top 5 photos of the month will be selected and uploaded onto our facebook fan group page. Fans of NUSPS facebook group will vote for the best photo by 'liking' the photo. The photo that garners the most “likes” will be named the Photo of the Month. The POM will be displayed on our notice board as well as NUSPS website.
Here are the basic rules:
1. A theme will be released each month.
2. Photos tagged with “POM” added to the NUSPS Flickr pool each month are considered for selection.
3. No limit to the number of photos that can be added.
4. Photos that best suit the theme will be chosen. Be creative in your interpretation!
5. The photo that garners the most number of “Likes” on facebook within a week will be selected as the POM.
Why join?
It’s a chance for you to showcase your talents as a photographer to others with the same interest. Not only that, if your photo wins the Photo of the Month, you win a NUSPS T-shirt and a pair of tickets to next year’s Montage!

Canon Photomarathon 2010

Ready to challenge yourself? Canon PhotoMarathon 2010 is here!
Date: 23 October 2010 (Saturday)
Venue: Suntec City Hall 401
Time: 730-1930
Registration Fee: $10*
*Includes a free Canon PhotoMarathon T-shirt
Canon PhotoMarathon is a one day photography competition, where participants are given a theme at a 3-4 hour interval. A total of 3 themes are given on the day. Participants would go out and shoot photographs that suits the theme, and submit the photo within the given time frame. If you are interested, just follow these steps:
1) Register yourself at http://www.canon-asia.com/photomarathon/singapore/register.jsp
- Under competition category, select "Student"
- Under school, select "National University of Singapore"
2) Print out the confirmation slip.
2) If you wish to join this competition with the rest of NUSPS, fill in the form. (optional)
By filling in the form, you would:
- Receive email updates and reminders pertaining to the PhotoMarathon from NUSPS.
- Receive sms updates on the day itself from us.
- Be part of the NUSPS group photo.
- If you are looking for fellow photographers to participate together on the day, we would be forming small groups on the day for NUSPS participants. (If you are interested and wish to do so)
