Photo Picnic+ Light Painting Marina Barrage Outing
NUSPS will be organising a picnic cum photo outing at Marina Barrage on 28th Jan 2012!
This will be a great chance for you to have fun with other members, aside from the usual photo-taking. Marina Barrage offers great views for landscape photography. For those who are interested in learning more about light painting, join us at night for some creativity by wielding your torchlights and sparklers!
There is no specific theme allocated for photography this time, so do come down and join us for an afternoon of fun and relaxation! We hope to see you there! :D

We welcome anyone who has the passion for photography and is interested to share and learn with others to join our big society! Do bring your friends who are interested to join NUSPS to visit us at the bench along the walkway to Central Library.

The NUSPS Post-Processing and Darkroom courses were both successfully held on 12 Nov 2011. We would like to express our heartfelt thanks to Lionel Lin for conducting the Post-Processing course. Thank you as well to all NUSPS members who took time to participate in both courses during this busy period!

Post-Processing Course
Dear Members,
NUSPS will be holding a Post-Processing Course exclusively for members on 12 November 2011 (Saturday). You may choose to attend one or more of the 3 parts of the course.

Date: 12 November 2011, Saturday
Time: 9.00 am – 12.00 pm
Venue: E3-06-02 (Engineering Faculty, near LT2)
Cost per person: $2
Agenda for the course:
Part One: 9.00 am -10.00 am Digital Photo Professional (DPP)
Part Two: 10.00 am -11.00 am Adobe Lightroom
Part Three: 11.00 aim - 12.00 pm Practical Course
(Hands-on sessions also incorporated in Part 1 & Part 2)
Things to take note:
•You are to bring own laptop with Adobe Lightroom installed. The 30 days trial version is available for downloading here
•DPP software can be found in the CD bundled free with all Canon DSLRs.
•Members are to bring photo(s) that they would like to edit.
•As this course is exclusively for members, Membership Card is to be presented upon entry.
•Limited spaces are available & are allocated based on first-come-first-serve basis.

Upcoming NUSPS activities
1. Basic Photography Course (19 Sep)
Thanks to the overwhelming response, we have closed the sign up form as there are limited spaces available. We are definitely looking into plans to conduct more of such courses in the future and do keep a lookout for our next Basic Photography Course during next semester! Once again thanks for the support!
Past NUSPS activities
1. Canon Photomarathon 2011 (10 Sep)
NUSPS was at Canon Photomarathon and it was a great experience for all who came down. We had a good showing this year with 3 shortlisted entries in the first theme "Eat". We had a enjoyable time sharing ideas for the themes throughout the day, using each other as models, having lunch together and most importantly having fun at photographing for the theme. Hope to see you guys next year again!

Dear Members,
It has been a year since the 42nd Management Committee (MC) of the Photographic Society of NUS (NUSPS) steps up. For all of us in the 42nd MC, the past year had been a great journey filled with uncountable treasured memories. From making new friends during the courses and outings to planning events with the various committees, these moments are captured in our hearts.
On behalf of the 42nd MC, I would like to say a big THANK YOU to you. Thank you for giving us the chance to serve. Thank you for your strong support in our activities and events over the past year. Thank you for being with us during the journey. Thank you for being part of the memories.
To those who have been with us in the past year, we hope that you had an enjoyable and fruitful time with us, just like we do. Without you, our events would not have been so successful. To those who have just join us, welcome to the family.
As a chapter of NUSPS comes to a close, it too marks the beginning of another. It is with our pleasure to pass the baton on to the 43rd Management Committee. We are confident that the 43rd MC will continue to bring you exciting events in their term of office and hope that you will extend the same strong support to the new committee.
